El día de hoy nos encantaría compartir con ustedes la biografía de uno de los genios mas destacados que el mundo haya visto nacer, Walt Disney.

Walter Elias Disney nació en Chicago el 5 de diciembre de 1901, y falleció el 15 de diciembre de 1966 con 65 años de edad en Burbank, EEUU. Su padre era granjero, y él tuvo la infancia típica del hijo de un granjero. Su madre era de antepasados alemanes y su padre de antepasados irlandeses. Walt fue el cuarto hijo de los cinco que eran. En 1906, cuando él tenía cinco años de edad su familia se trasladó a una granja en Missuri a vivir. En 1910 debido a una enfermedad que atacó a su padre la familia Disney se vieron obligados a mudarse a Kansas City, cosa que a Walt no le fue de todo su agrado, pues amaba la vida en la granja.

Empezó a trabajar ayudando a su papa con la repartición de periódicos en Kansas. Pero cuando su familia se mudó a Chicago, Walt comenzó a trabajar mientras estudiaba como el historietista del periódico de su escuela, The Village Voice. El principal tema de sus cómics era la primera guerra mundial, y eran de carácter patriótico. Estuvo un rato de su vida con el ejército y la cruz roja, pero, nunca llegó a entrar en combate.

Regresó a Kansas y en 1920 comenzó a trabajar como publicista en Kansas City Film Ad, y fue en esta empresa en la que comenzó a interesarse por la animación. En 1922 el creó una empresa de cortos animados sobre cuentos infantiles, como lo es cenicienta y el gato con botas. Su empresa quebró por falta de ingresos económicos. Pero Walt se decidió trasladar a Hollywood donde comenzó un pequeño estudio en el garaje de casa de sus tios con su hermano Roy. Fue el corto de Alice´s Wonderland el que le abrió las puertas en la industria.

En 1925 Walt contrajo matrimonio con Lilian Bounds, con quien tuvo una hija y adoptó a otra. El famoso ratón Micky Mouse tuvo su primera aparición en 1928 en Plane Crazy, un cortometraje mudo. Su primer parque de diversiones abrió sus puertas al público el 18 de julio de 1955. Disney falleció el Falleció el 15 de diciembre de 1966 debido a un cáncer de pulmón y fue incinerado el 17 de diciembre para llevar sus restos al panteón familiar en el Forest Lawn Memorial Park de Glendale, California.

His father was a farmer, and he had the typical childhood of a farmer's son. His mother was of German ancestors and his father of Irish ancestors. Walt was the fourth son of the five that they were.
